My images are made using black and white sheet film and large format cameras, or using digital capture to make film negatives for contact printing. I have been making images for over four decades and find the detail, tones and textures in objects around us fascinating.
The camera I have used most often is a 5x7 wood field camera which produces a 5 inch by 7 inch negative. I have also used 4x5 and 8x10 film cameras. With this size film it is possible to record very fine details and textures. Occasionally, I also use a digital camera to capture an image. I then will use the digital file to make a film negative to make the final contact print.
I hand craft my images from the selecting of the location, exposing the image, making the negative and producing the final print.
